Jungle Boogie

well, it's been a few days since I've written anything... partially because it was so expensive in Dominical to use the computers and most of the time I was just waiting around for the thing to work... so here I am in the middle of the rainforest using satalite to write my blog... how cool is that!

first I should write about the last few days in Dominical... I went out one night because all of the locals at Tortilla flats convinced me to do so, and I ended up trying the local liquor, I can't even remember the name of it (which is probably good because everytime someone mentions the name I start to gag) but I had a few too many shots (it was ladies night and the bartender had it out for me because I took a photo of him while he was passed out in a hammock for 6 hours... so all night he was making shots and seeking me out to make sure I got mine) Yes I could have refused, but they were actually really yummy and it made it seem like i wasn't having a shot at all... okay, so I digress... I danced for a couple of hours then stumbled home which was around the corner... I went to bed and fell asleep, only to wake up with the worlds worst hangover of all time... I skipped my very last surf lesson which was fine because my surf instructor was at the bar the night before and I told him I was going to skip my lesson... he laughed and said, well, you seem totally fine. HA! (I'm too old for that kind of drinking ugg)
I went to the beach around noon played in the water and still felt awful, but more of an I'm sick not hungover kind of awful... My friends Matt and Erica came down and met me and made fun of me the entire time which is always nice :) Erica and I went surfing took some silly pictures and I got one more gigantic bruise for the road... (I have more injuries from surfing than I've ever had from another sport!)
we watched the sunset, went to dinner, and I had to go home to sleep because I had a fever... that lasted until the next day and finally broke, but I"ve been on a yummy medicinal cocktail for the last two days, we went to the beach and played a little then came out here to the Finca....

AHHHHH yes, Finca Bella Vista. It's a dream. I'm at base camp now, which is where we sleep I had a little cabina down by the swimming hole last night and tonight I'm sleeping in a tent. it's raining at the moment (misting) but it's been sunny and beautiful for the past day and a half. I can't wait to post photos of everything on here... that will have to wait until I get home though.

Today we hiked up to the spot where Matt and Erica are going to build their treehouse and we swam in the swimming hole and played in the waterfall... then hiked up to the point which was about a 35 minute hike up... on the way we saw tons of monkeys and kept our eyes peeled for the puma that one of the workers saw yesterday near mango road. yikes!
we took some more photos and then came down to eat lunch... I had to jump in the swimming hole first though because it is soooo humid out here i was soaked when we got down. it's crazy how much I sweat! yuk. it's cleansing though and I like it. I would love to have a spot up here, it's truly amazing what they are doing. and it's BEAUTIFUL!!

well I shoud get going because it's dinner time and I've been anti-social for the past few hours lying around in a hammock and reading a book, now i'm online and still being anti social...

I'll write more soon! ahhhhh... love this place! once again, if you want to check it out online here is the site.
